The Toronto Declaration for the Prevention of Elder Abuse  "Elder abuse is a single or repeated act, or lack of appropriate action, occurring within any relationship where there is an expectation of trust which causes harm or distress to an older person”. It can be of various forms: physical, psychological/emotional, sexual, financial or simply reflect intentional or unintentional neglect. This declaration is a Call for Action aimed at the prevention of elder abuse."
